Business Hours during New Year Holidays

We would like to inform Sony Bank customers of our business hours during the 2021 New Year holidays.
English online banking
The service will be available as usual.
Please note that the service is not available every Monday from 2:00am to 5:00am due to system maintenance.
Partner ATMs in Japan
Japan Post Bank ATM will be available 9:00am to 5:00pm from Thursday, December 31, 2020 to Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Lawson Bank ATM and E-net ATM will not be available from 9:00pm on Friday, January 1, 2021 to 7:00am on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
Other partner ATMs will operate as usual.
Information about partner ATMs in Japan
Postal mails (cash card delivery, etc.) & Account opening
Postal mail delivery and account opening procedures are not available on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. Therefore, there may be some delays in cash card delivery during the New Year holidays.
The Open Account app is available as usual.
Important
If you apply to open an account on or after Friday, December 25, 2020, your cash card will be delivered on or after Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

Foreign currency deposits
Trading of foreign currency (buying or selling foreign currency) at Sony Bank and cancelling of your Foreign Currency Savings Account is available 24 hours a day, except during system maintenance and the hours when trading of foreign currencies is not available.

Outgoing foreign currency remittances
You can apply for both pre-registration and Outgoing foreign currency remittance anytime, 24 hours a day. However, please be advised that your application can only be verified and processed during business hours.
The pre-registration process takes 3 to 10 business days after application.
In general, an Outgoing foreign currency remittance will be completed in 2 to 5 business days after application.
- All Outgoing foreign currency remittances are subject to a pre-registration verification process, which may take some time depending on the details of your application. Please allow yourself enough time when submitting your application.
- In cases where the date of an Outgoing foreign currency remittance falls on a bank holiday of the country where the funds are remitted to, it may take more than 5 business days until the remittance is made.

Incoming foreign currency remittances
You can complete procedures to receive incoming foreign currency 24 hours a day. However, verification of remittance details and related procedures by Sony Bank can only be completed during business hours.
Once you have completed procedures to receive incoming foreign currency, Sony Bank will verify the details you have registered, and funds will be deposited to your account after the verification process is completed.
