New products and services

Foreign Currency Fund Transfer Between Sony Bank Accounts

We are launching a new service that allows customers to transfer foreign currency between Sony Bank foreign currency savings accounts. Since no verification procedure is required, the funds will be transferred to the beneficiary immediately upon completion of the procedures. No fund transfer fee is required.

Changes to products and services

Sony Bank WALLET now enables one-way card insertion with the new IC chip installed

For the enhancement of card security, IC chip authentication will be implemented for card use at ATMs in Japan. In addition, both Visa Debit/Overseas ATM and cash cards inserted in the same direction can be used on cards issued after service renewal.

More detailed settings will be available for email notification

Customers will be able to receive all notification emails to a second email address which they can optionally register. We will also enable customers to choose whether or not to display the transaction amount in notification emails.

Account opening now available at the age of 18

Customers 18 years of age or above may open an account via the Open Account app.

Customers will be able to complete the procedures of linking, updating, or unlinking their Individual Number (My Number) to their Sony Bank deposit account, or designating, updating, or deregistering their account as the account on which they receive public benefits via our English online banking without submitting a written request form.
