Change in website URL (domain)

You will be automatically redirected to the new URL for a period of time after the site is renewed. If you have added the current URL to your Favorites or Bookmarks bar, please update it with the new URL following website renewal. Please be cautious of phishing scams that take advantage of the domain change.

The email domain change

If you have configured your email settings to receive emails from a specified domain or email address, please make sure you update your settings. Please be cautious of phishing emails pretending to be from Sony Bank.

(*) The email domain "@ma1.sonybank.net" will no longer be used after the renewal. (Updated on November 13, 2024)

Discontinue the transaction PIN

We will discontinue the transaction PIN that you had to enter when completing a transaction. In order to ensure security and safe online banking transactions, we have reevaluated the authentication method required for transactions.
Your sign-in password, cash card PIN, and one-time password will continue to be required for authentication purposes.

Changes to sign-in password settings

To strengthen security, we will change the password setting conditions as follows and increase the number and types of characters that can be used in passwords.

• Password length　8-32 characters
• Password character type　Alphabetic characters, numeric characters, and symbols
• Character combination　Must include at least one alphabetic and one numeric character

You will be able to sign in to the new online banking website using your current password.

Change in scheduled maintenance hours

The frequency of system downtime for maintenance will be reduced from once a week to once a month.

Change when renewing for Sony Bank WALLET (cash card with Visa Debit functionality)

When your current Sony Bank WALLET expires, we will issue you with a regular cash card if you have not used your card’s Visa Debit function within the past three years.
