- Risks of Foreign currency deposits
-
- Foreign currency deposits are inherently exposed to the risk of fluctuations in the foreign exchange rate. Movements in the foreign exchange markets may result in the amount of the principal at the time of deposit differing from the amount you receive at the time of withdrawal, when converted to the same currency at those two points in time, which constitutes a risk of loss of principal. In addition, when buying or selling foreign currency, an exchange fee will be incurred, due to which, even in the absence of exchange rate fluctuations between the time of deposit and the time of withdrawal, the amount of principal at the time of withdrawal may be less than the amount at the time of deposit
- Foreign currency deposits are not covered by deposit insurance.
